FAQ

Do I have to wear a helmet?

Anyone under 18 MUST wear a helmet, no exceptions. Otherwise, you may choose for yourself. We provide helmets.

Can I bring apples or carrots for my horse?

Yes! Your horse would love to snack on apples or carrots. Fun fact: horses also love other fresh produce like watermelon, sweet potatoes, and turnips.

Should I tip my guide?

Yes! Your guide does a lot of work before, during, and after your ride. Your horse must be fed, cleaned, and saddled before riding—and done in reverse afterward! Just as you’d tip a good waiter or waitress, you can show your appreciation for your guide!

What is the weight limit?

Our largest horses can carry up to 240 pounds, but only two of these per ride, as we have a limited number of big horses.

What is the youngest age that can ride?

Ages 7 and up can ride their own horse. Ages 6 or younger (and at least 40 lbs) can ride double (in a Buddy Saddle) with a guide. Maximum two double riders per session.

What should I wear?

We recommend closed-toed shoes and jeans. The majority of the trail is shaded, but you may come in contact with foliage. Cowboy hats are also encouraged! Children must wear helmets, which we provide.

Is Fancy Forest Farm close to Nashville?

Only 45 minutes outside the famous Music City, Fancy Forest Farm escapes the hustle and bustle of honky tonks in exchange for peaceful nature and relaxation.

What if it rains?

In the case of bad weather, your ride may get canceled. You will be able to reschedule or take a refund.

Cancellations/refunds

Rides are non-refundable unless canceled 24 hours in advance of your ride. Refunds or reschedules will be issued in the case of bad weather, as determined by the farm.
